Carson Gibson is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Schulenburg, TX who attends Texas Connections Academy at Houston. Medium, square shoulders with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.96 60-yard dash. Left-handed pitcher, staggered start on the mound with a hands-over-head delivery, remains compact with mechanics and loads well onto backside with some drive through lower half. Works to a mostly high three-quarters release point, occasionally higher, lands closed and works across body at release. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with running life to arm side, worked up in the zone but showed best life when located down. Curveball showed 1-7 shape through the zone with big depth down in the zone up to 60 mph and turned over a changeup with late fading life up to 74 mph. Excellent student.
