2023 14U Georgia All-State Games
Rhett Morgan is a 2027 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Statesboro, GA who attends Southeast Bulloch. Tall, physical build with well proportioned strength in the frame. Right-handed hitter, narrow and slightly open base with high hands, leg lift trigger stride, swings hard and with intent to impact to the middle of the field, creates some torque in the lower half and stays compact throughout. Showed some strength to both gaps. Primary catcher, side saddled setup, stays low throughout the operation, developing feel to receive, long arm swing to a higher release, throws were on the bag, up to 69 mph and a pop-time of 2.13. Secondary right-handed pitcher, slow paced delivery into a belt high leg lift, loose arm to a three-quarters slot. Moved the fastball around the zone, up to 74 mph. Mixed in two distinct shaped breaking ball in the mid-60s that he could land for strikes. Also worked out at first base, fundamental footwork around the bag, glove gets down late, mid body exchange and showed ability to change slots. Developing accuracy but showed good arm strength, recorded throws up to 77 mph. Excellent student.
