2022 Midwest Prospect Showcase
Jaylan Yates is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Camby, IN who attends Decatur Central. Recorded a 8.47 sixty yard dash at the event. Tall, larger frame that processions good strength in the build. Primary right handed pitcher, used a short arm action with a balanced delivery. Knee to chest leg raise, creating some balance to work down the mound in line. Gets rotational up top in delivery occasionally. Longer arm action. Fastball has some run to it, pairing well with a changeup that shows depth for strikes. Secondary infielder, has a big frame with soft hands. Developing footwork that is works into position slower. Right handed hitter in the box, has good pop at the plate. Uses strong hands to have good feel for the barrel. Wide base in the box, with solid balance in the box. Projects well to the next level as the hit tools continue to develop. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
