Daniel Sykes is a 2025 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Spring Lake, NC who attends Overhills. Young pitchers type build with good frame to add and some twitchy athleticism overall. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.26 seconds. Primary RHP, starting with side step to high leg tuck as he loads over the rubber. Clean arm path in back leading to 3/4 arm angle and creates good torque out of his midsection. FB with some ride through the zone as it peaked at 79 mph with spin that created some sink at the plate. Firm SL up to 71 mph with short tight break tunneled well with the heater. Turns the CH over creating arm side run as it decelerated bat heads well. Mixed pitches well, filled up the strike zone but could stand to work at a crisper pace overall. Reps in the OF and at 1B as well, showing some hop in his step getting to the ball quickly. Clean glove work to quick release with throws up to 85 mph from the outfield. Good overall athletic presentation. Made some exceptional diving catches in the OF in game action. RHH working from a neutral start with lower hands out over the plate. Transfers weight well at contact. When on time and synched up there is real power here. Got better as batting practice round progressed and performed very well in game collecting several hits. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
