2023 14U Midwest All-State Games
Zachary Lacquement is a 2027 OF/RHP, 3B, SS with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Southeast Polk. He has a good frame with a compact and athletic build and present strength with room to add more muscle as he continues to develop. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.33 seconds. Primary outfielder that showed good actions in the outfield, working around the ball well and fielding it cleanly. He made quick transfers and is able to generate nice carry on his throws. He was accurate the base, delivering the ball on a line and one hopping the target. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works from the middle of the rubber and uses a knee to belt leg kick. He has a smooth operation and does a nice job of working down the mound and in line with the plate. He throws with a longer arm actions and fires from a 3/4 slot. He is able to create some cutting action on his fastball which proved to be tough for opposing hitters. His curveball showed solid shape and break, making it nice off speed pitch to keep hitters off balance. Right-handed hitter that starts in a narrow base that is slightly open with high hand and a low back elbow. He uses a toe tap trigger for timing and works through the ball with his lower half well. He has a short, quick path to the ball and does a nice job of getting the barrel on plane early and staying through the baseball. His hand speed allows him to create nice whip through the zone and impact the ball to the pull side. Named to the 2023 14U Midwest All-State Games Top Prospect List.
