Jose Armando Pimentel is a 2024 C/1B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Miami Gardens, FL who attends Sunshine State Elite Academy. Extra large and strong build. 7.70 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, moves well for his size with some lower half quickness and agility, has an idea on his footwork, clean and quick exchange at his chest on his throws, has good arm strength and carry on his throws, solid overall defensive tools. Right handed hitter, moves in with his lower half, long and strong upper body rotational swing, front side can fly open early, uphill swing plane, singular approach that can be shortened. Key to his development will be continuing to develop his conditioning and lower half athleticism.
