2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Luke Dowd is a 2024 2B/OF/UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Manasquan, NJ who attends Manasquan. Dowd worked exclusively from his primary IF spot on the day, flashing lateral range with accurate throws across the diamond up to 77 mph. He has further room to refine the arm action and add strength to the frame in the future. Offensively, the righty started from a narrow slightly open stance with a compact hand set and hanging leg lift trigger that produced impact to all parts of the field. Dowd attempted to create lift in the stroke with quickness present in the hands. Posted an exit velo of 76 mph. Ran a 4.94 forty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
