Adam Ornelas is a 2027 SS/RHP, C with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Madera, CA. Features a taller and lanky frame with projection. Ran a 7.60 60-yd dash. Defensively in the INF, he showed fundamental actions where his light feet worked around the ball with clean glove actions especially to the backhand side. He used an easy-effort shorter arm action that made accurate throws across that shows more in the tank. Behind the plate, he has solid catch/throw ability where he gains good ground and has a quality exchange with avg. quickness out the crouch. The arm also showed accuracy behind the plate as well. At the plate, he sits in a balanced, wider base. Uses a heel raise trigger that minimizes his forward move. The swing is connected and compact working on a linear path through the baseball that flashes some barrel quickness. Solid BP round all together barreling line drives to the middle of the field. On the mound, it’s a slower moving operation down the mound with some deception due to a high glove arm that pulls down and some slight cross fire at landing. His arm works longer in the back and up to a high ¾ slot. His fastball that topped 71 had some natural cutting action and flashed a larger breaker ball that has good depth to it.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
