Evan Sommer is a 2025 1B/C with a 6-2 275 lb. frame from Racine, WI who attends Case. Recorded a 6.08 second 40-yard dash time. Large frame and sturdy build with present strength. Primary first baseman with a long and loose arm action, hands work well out front with some softness to them. Stays low and gets the glove down early, showed good footwork on the turns to second base, has good fundamentals and feel for the position. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and a small stride into contact, keeps his weight back to start. High hand and back elbow set, loads into a front arm bar. Utilizes a pull side approach but still showed power to the middle of the field. Good swing path, consistency and timing will be key for his development moving forward.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
