Dominik Espinosa is a 2023 1B/RHP with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Fresno, CA who attends Fresno. Medium lean frame. Defensively, at first base he works with athletic footwork to get himslef into proper fielding position, fed the double play accurately and with zip behind it. Very quality defensive round. At the plate, he sets up with wide spread base and slight leg kick load. The batspeed was slightly above average with feel to square it up through the middle. The approach mainly stays there but isn't afraid to turn and burn given the proper pitch location. There's power potential in the making as he adds muscle mass. On the mound, as a secondary he is a nice piece with ability to fill up the zone and produce weak contact with a two pitch mix. The arm stroke is on the shorter side with release from a three-quarters slot. Breaking ball features healthy shape with downer type break to it. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
