Carson Root is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Menifee, CA who will attend Linfield Christian high school in the fall. Features lean, athletic developing build. A primary pitcher that showed a 4-pitch mix (FB, CB, SL, CH) Root works extremely fast on the mound. Fastball has glove side cut; curveball has late break, and pulls the string on the changeup that had hitters out front. Great pick-off-move. Collected 6 strikeouts in 3 innings of work. Lots of potential here. A switch hitter; Root showed the ability to square the ball up consistently from both sides of the plate. Shows more of a connected power stroke from the left side.
