Hayes Lautenbach is a 2027 RHP/C, SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Pella, IA who attends Pella. He has a good frame for his age with a lean build and plenty of room to add strength as he continues to mature. Ran the forty yard dash in 5.00 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that uses a side step delivery and brings his knee above his belt on his leg kick. He throws with a short arm action and fires from a 3/4 arm slot. He does a nice job of landing online to the plate and gets extended well. He showed good feel for the fastball and was confident on the mound, attacking opposing hitters. His go to off-speed pitch was an 11-5 curveball that showed slurvy action at times and had good break. He also threw a changeup that featured some fade. Secondary catcher that starts in a high and side straddle set up. He has longer transfers and can take some time off his impressive 2.13 second pop time by staying low on his throws. He did a nice job of working towards second and made accurate throws. Right-handed hitter that starts with a wider base and uses a leg lift trigger for timing. He has a rotational swing and showed the ability to stay on balance throughout his swing. He lets the ball get deep into the hitting zone and uses the opposite field well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
