Zach Powelson is a 2027 OF/RHP, SS, IF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Helendale, CA who attends Academy of Careers and Exploration. Advanced physically. Methodical delivery with moderate lift and easy extension. Long slow arm stroke shows speed and repeatablility to a three-quarters release. Fastball has quality carry and early signs of life through the mitt. Getting whiffs on it early count before mixing in a solid slurvy breaker that he spins with consistency. In the outfield, he shows a fundamental approach with loose athelticism. Flashes plenty of usable arm strength and carry. In the infield, he works with smooth footwork and a glove that works through the proper hop. Transfers cleanly with compact arm stroke that produces strong accurate throws across the diamond. Right handed hitter sets up with a wide base. Limited stride or load but shows very quick hands with a lower half that generates well above average pull side power. Lived on the barrel throughout the round, impressive all weekend. 7.41 60-yard. Good student. Named to the Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
