Ian Finney is a 2027 C/RHP, 2B, 3B, SS, MIF, OF, UT with a 5-6 115 lb. frame from Chelsea, AL who attends Chelsea. Ran a 8.76 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, uses a side saddle stance with calculated actions. Higher setup and made all the plays while throwing to the bag with intent. Recorded a 2.51 sec pop time with throws up to 61 mph. Pitched as well. Easy and balanced delivery. Gets compact at the top of leg lift and uses a shorter 3/4 arm stroke. Looser release and worked the fastball up to 67 mph. Also landed a curveball at 59 mph. Pounded the zone with his two-pitch mix. Right-handed hitter, even base and very clean looking setup. Higher hands and uses a simple weight transfer. Most contact to the backside. Struggled to turn the barrel which will improve with added reps and strength. Has feel for it and a solid fundamental swing.
