Carson Vargason is a 2027 OF/RHP, 3B with a 5-6 127 lb. frame from Anamosa, IA who attends Anamosa. Works from a lean compact frame with some physical upside. Primary outfielder, attacks the baseball with urgency, stays light on the feet, the arm has some whip to it, kept the throws low and online, recorded arm strength up to 75 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch, lifts the leg up to the belt, breaks into a deeper arm path and releases from a three-quarters slot, the fastball had some cut to it and topped out at 75 mph, landed a shorter curveball down in the zone to disrupt hitters’ timing. In the infield, worked through the ball well, has some lateral range, displayed smooth glove actions, recorded arm strength up to 72 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts in a slightly open stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow, the stroke is a bit lengthy and the barrel gets extended out in front, produced some contact to the middle of the field when timed up, recorded an exit velocity of 69 mph. Ran a 7.99 sixty-yard dash.
