JP Newman is a 2027 MIF/RHP with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Nashville, TN who attends Montgomery Bell Academy. JP has a frame that has room for added strength and growth. His defensive skills are fundamentally good with some good footwork and agility to move around on the infield. His actions through fielding and throwing are clean and there is something in there that is yet to be tapped. JP's stuff from the mound is just ok right now. Not much strength in the lower half to create a good powerful drive but the arm works clean and he throws strikes. Offensively JP shows intent with his swing, again the lack of overall strength hinders him right now, but the ability to develop and still get better will be paramount as he improves. JP is also a very good student in the classroom.
