JT Girod is a 2027 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Independence, OR who attends Central. A taller and athletic frame with a medium build. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who fielded the ball up the middle of his body with a real good feel for the glove. He funneled well thru the middle of his body and let throws go at 81 mph across the diamond. He showed off a good backhand with some quickness to get rid of the ball. Throws had a good flight and carried well during his round of defensive workouts at shortstop. A right-handed hitter who showed off some athleticism in the batters' box. He had higher-set hands and a higher-set back elbow. He worked direct to the ball and was able to produce lots of line drives working to both gaps. He stayed balanced and had some easier bat speed overall. Showed a feel for the barrel and was able to use the whole field during his round of BP swings. Produced an 84 mph exit velocity during PG tech testing. Added 2 hits in the form of 2 doubles in-game as well, showing off the ability to drive the ball. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up working with a leg lift up around the belt. Side-steps into the leg lift and then works from a higher three-quarters arm slot. Showed a shorter arm action. He used a heavy fastball attack early on, showing some arm-side run to the pitch working into the upper-70s. He flashed a curveball as well, with bigger break being a bit slurvy at times. Mostly worked with 11/5 shape to it. Girod also showed off his athleticism and quick reaction, catching a comebacker at him, handling it well, and securing the ball for the out. Also made clean throws when fielding the ball coming off the mound. Excellent student.
