Jonathan Pace is a 2008 SS/3b/2b with a 5'10'', 185 lb. frame from Terry, MS who attends Terry HS. He has an medium athletic frame with good present strength. He is a primary shortstop now but will likely go straight to second base at the next level. Pace is an athletic defender with quick, sure hands and good body control but has a complicated arm stroke and fringy arm strength. He did turn double plays well when he had to get rid of the ball quickly. Pace's best skills are on offense. He has excellent hitting fundamentals and a strong idea how to hit the ball. He's very balanced and very short to the ball and has a well above average ability to center the ball and hit line drives to all fields. He has some gap to gap power in his swing but the big thing with Pace is that he's going to hit the ball solidly almost every time up. It worked against 95 mph fastballs and his approach will be effective against all other types of pitchers as well. Pace is a 7.14 runner.
