Matt Ritchie is a 2027 RHP/SS, OF with a 6-1 145 lb. frame from South Elgin, IL who attends St. Charles North. Recorded a 5.47 second 40-yard dash time. High-waisted frame with plenty of room to fill, very projectable for his age. Primary right-handed pitcher with a long and loose arm action and good arm speed for his age, comes from a three-quarters slot. Good pace to the delivery, lands online to the plate with some effort at release. Goes right at hitters and showed the ability to mix speeds and locations, was not afraid to throw his curveball. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp sink, solid pitch that can miss bats. Lots of projection in the arm and the body, high ceiling moving forward. Secondary shortstop, moves well in the infield and showcased a strong arm with good feel for the glove. Has a solid understanding of the position and made accurate throws with carry out of the hand. Right-handed hitter with an upright stance and wide base, utilizes a big leg lift trigger and is heavy on the front foot. Loads deep and has a longer swing path, barrel will drag at times, timing will improve with more reps. Has present bat speed and hand quickness, showed power when catching it out front. Has the tools to really improve going forward. Definite two-way potential. Named to the 2023 Eastern Iowa Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
