Tyler Warner is a 2009 LHP with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Newton, IA who attends Newton HS. He has a mature build, with broad shoulders and good present strength. He has a full back turn delivery that hides the ball well with his compact arm action and a full effort release that leaves him falling hard to the third base side. With his build and hair style its one of the better Mitch Williams looks that you'll see. Warner threw his fastball mostly in the 77-79 mph range and it was pretty straight. He threw a big sweeping slider from 65-69 mph, with his best breaking balls being at the lower velocities when they had a bigger break. He did a good job throwing strikes and making hitters swing the bat. Warner has some deception, threw strikes and competed hard.
