Justin Murray is a 2009 2B/P with a 5'5'', 130 lb. frame from Farmington, NM, who attends Farmington High School. Murray has a lean and athletic looking frame. Defensively he has solid actions. Murray moves well with nice footwork and body control. His hands work giving him ability to make all of the plays in the middle of the diamond. Murray has an accurate arm on his throws to first base at 73 mph. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a no load approach. Murray has solid bat speed, and he stays balanced throughout his swing. He is a line drive hitter who centers the ball consistently, and he keeps his hands inside the ball hitting to all fields. Murray tracks pitches picking the ball up early out of the pitcher's hand. He battles during each at bat. On the mound he is a sidearmer who throws with slinging arm action. He has a balanced delivery that is very deceptive. He gets tailing action on his fastball at 75 mph with sink at times. He is a hard pitcher for batters to face. He allowed only 1 hit in 3 innings of work. Murray is a good student as well.
