2005 National Showcase
Gerald Sullivan is a 2006 RHP from Mt. Olive HS in Budd Lake, NJ, with a 6'3", 200 lb. frame. He was one of the hardest throwers at the National, touching 94 mph and consistently pitching at 92 mph. Sullivan has a minimal effort delivery and a high, over the top release point to his pitches with very good arm speed. He showed good command of all his pitches. Sullivan's best pitch was a nasty 78 mph curveball that had excellent downer bite due to his release point. He also showed a good feel for a upper 70's change up. Given his solid athletic body, clean mechanics and present power stuff, Sullivan has one of the biggest upsides of any pitcher in the 2006 class.
