He knows how to play the game and is a well-rounded player who maximizes his abilities. Simply put, Fujii is a competitior that plays above his tools. Offensively he has a quick bat and is short to the ball. His bat control is very good, as his his approach. Fujii hits to all fields and makes consistent contact. He is an excellent two-hole type hitter, the type of player that can really make an offense go. He flashed some life with the bat and is going to get some extra base knocks. His hands and wrists are good for hitting. Fujii gets out of the box well, makes hard turns and runs the bases very well. Defensively he showed a quick release and some arm strength. His feet work well and he was very good around the 2nd base bag. Of particular note was how Fujii hung in there while turning the double play, with a runner bearing down on him. He is a playmaker and a gamer and brings a lot of energy to his team on the defensive side of the game. Fujii is a solid student and a very good baseball player that plays a winning brand of baseball.
