2023 13U/14U Sunshine Northeast Showcase
Mathew Padro is a 2027 IF/C with a 5-7 154 lb. frame from Pennsauken, NJ who attends Pennsauken. Compact, medium frame with plenty of time to fill out. Recorded a 8.21 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary infielder with developing defensive skill set. Displayed some lateral range to either side, a deeper funnel due to slight waist bend to field and segmented arm action to throw. Recorded developing arm strength up to 62 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open stance with exaggerated high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half movements into launch, displayed some compact present bat speed and has feel for the barrel. Used middle-of-the field effectively and showed the ability to turn the barrel over on the inner-half, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength.
