2007 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Josh Biggs is a 2009 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Valparaiso, IN who attends Washington Township HS. He has long legs and a lean, slender frame. Boggs has a fast paced delivery with a big leg raise and a quick, compact arm action. He does a good job of hiding the ball from the hitter and providing some deception to his pitches. Biggs fastball topped out at 84 mph and he was able to pound the outside corner to right hand hitters with it. His curveball had good depth and sharpness to it and he was able to repeatedly backdoor his curveball on the corner. Biggs change up was also a quality pitch, with late life and good hand speed and he could probably throw it more frequently than he did. Biggs arm action isn't especially projectable but he mixes up three good pitches and has an idea what he's doing. Plus he's left handed. Biggs is a good athlete who runs well (7.22) and swings the bat a bit. He is a good student.
