2005 California Top Prospect Showcase
Jared Jordan is a 2006 C from Canyon Springs HS, residing in Moreno Valley, CA, with a 6'1", 190 lb. frame. He has a strong, physical type build. Jordan hits from a square stance and is an aggressive hitter with a good trigger. He displayed plus balance and plus bat speed in his swing. Jordan has nice tempo in his approach to the ball and drove the ball well through contact. He currently hits with power from gap to gap. Jordan also showed the ability to battle in his at-bats which indicates that he will also hit for some average. At this point it looks like he is going to hit in the middle of a D1 college line-up. Behind the plate Jordan has a good arm and his throws track well to second base. He has a quick transfer and showed to be an accurate thrower. With a quick and efficient replacement of his feet, clean transfer, and good arm, Jordan has a good catch/throw skill set. He explodes out of the crouch. Jordan is also a good receiver. Many of those catching skills also transferred for Jordan when he moved over to first base. He has strong hands, strong legs, a strong left handed bat, and present day catch/throw skills. Jordan has early signing period ability, and will draw pro interest this spring as well.
