2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Mutchler is a good looking catcher from Arizona who is still 15 years old and showed some nice tools. His bat was very good with consistent line drives and the ability to wait on the ball and hit the middle of the field. He impressed our staff with a good advanced swing and his defensive ability was also a strong suit with potential for the division 1 level. He can throw down to second base well and has a nice arm registering 76 mph on the throw. He runs adequately for a catcher and we like the way he is already swinging the wood. Good student.
