Jimmy Marshall is a solid strong 6'0/200 catcher/RHP from Tallahassee, FL. Marshall showed a legitimate two-way prospect ability. He has a powerful bat and throws 91 mph with a sharp mid-80’s slider off the mound. Scouts will continue to look at him both ways in the immediate future. As a catcher he showed plus MLB arm strength and very good 1.8 pop times, 1.9 in the game. He even ran a very good 7.1 on the Tropicana Field turf. His swing is a bit long and he creates big league power bat speed. He has serious raw power and he shows it when he gets his hips turned. He has a power arm that can reach close to mid 90s at times. Jimmy is an excellent student.
