Joey Bergman is a 2006 middle infielder from Jacksonville, Florida, with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. Defensively, Bergman has solid actions with good footwork in the middle of the diamond. One of his best tools is his speed. He ran a good sixty time (7.01), but showed even better game speed. Bergman ran a 4.31 home to first time, and used his quickness well on the bases and in the field. Bergman can also hit. He is a left handed hitter with an advanced approach, and very good bat speed. Bergman has strength in his swing with good balance and leverage. He stays inside the ball well and has the ability to go the other way. Bergman went 3 for 4 in one showcase game with a double. Bergman projects to be a very good top of the order hitter at the next level. He is also a very good student.
