Jonathan Conklin is a 6'4" 181 pound 2006 right handed pitcher and first baseman from Sunrise, Florida who attends Western High School. He is tall and lean with long arms. Jonathan has a loose quick arm that is very short and compact. He has above average arm speed with excellent command. He likes to work the corners of the plate and does so very well. Conklin's fastball has some cut action on it at 84 mph. He throws two different breaking balls, a 12/6 curveball at 66 mph that was very tight and a slider at 70 mph. He mixed his pitches up very well including his change up at 74 mph. He has very good extension and looks to be able to add more velocity as he matures. Conklin also is a nice looking hitter as well. He generates very good bat speed and has good raw power with nice hands to the ball. Jonathan is a nice two way prospect with good upside.
