Reyes is a big and strong 6-3 right handed hitting first baseman from Florida. He has above average upper body strength and the frame to get stronger. During batting practice, Reyes looked very raw, almost like he was listening to a couple of different batting instructors and trying to do the right thing instead of just using his natural strength to hit the ball. He especially didn’t get any extension to the ball. During games, though, Reyes relaxed and lengthened his swing out and had a number of solid hits, including a double up the gap. He definitely has the talent to improve as a hitter with the right approach. Reyes has good speed for his size (7.34) and ran the bases well. Reyes also pitched a couple of innings in relief, pitching around 75 mph with his fastball and throwing a 65-67 mph curveball. He has the potential to improve on the mound with some basic adjustments to his mechanics. Reyes is a very good student.
