Joshua Brayley is a 2006 RHP/OF from Mission Viejo HS in Mission Viejo, CA, with a 6'2", 160 lb. frame. Brayley has a thin and projectable pitcher's body with a smooth delivery. His clean arm action and good arm speed make you think he is going to throw harder in the future. Brayley threw with a long and loose arm and his fastball topped out at 85 mph. He finishes his pitches well, and throws everything for strikes. Brayley mixes in an 11 to 5 curveball with good depth at 74 mph. He did not allow an earned run during his 3 innings of work while striking out 3. Offensively he hits from the right side with an upright stance. He tends to get his weight out on his front side early causing him to make inconsistent contact. We think Brayley has a good future on the mound with his good mechanics and delivery with projectable velocity. He needs to be followed, and is a good student.
