Staunch is a strong, physical player who appears bigger than his listed 6-0, 185 lbs. He has a simple, no stride approach at the plate with a level, short swing. Staunch consistently hit the ball hard in Lincoln and we think he can be a impact offensive player at the next level, especially as he develops more loft in his swing. He has serious power potential with wood. Staunch’s best tool at third base is his throwing arm, which is MLB average. He shows good hands on balls close to him but will have to work consistently on maintaining his range and body life to stay at the position. His bat could take him a long way in pro ball and he does everything else pretty good too. He can play and especially hit at the highest levels of DI baseball. Kale is a very good student.
