Matt Clark is a 2005 LHP/1B from McDonough, Georgia with a strong frame at 6'2", 185 lbs. Clark has a quick and easy arm. He throws from a 3/4 slot with a high leg kick. Clark gets good late life on his fastball that touched 90 mph in his first inning of work. Clark's velocity did drop during his second and third innings of work (84-88), but that is to be expected in January. He worked fast and attacked hitters. His release point was inconsistent on his curveball, and he was rushing his body to the plate. Clark definitely has a quick arm with present arm strength. At the plate, he has good bat speed with big power potential. He does pull off some pitches trying to do too much, but he does have raw power. Clark is a strong LHP with a live arm and big hitting potential.
