2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Stevens was a pleasant surprise in the outfield. He has a very strong arm being clocked at 87 mph on every throw with excellent carry and accuracy. He runs well in the field being clocked at 6.72 in the 60 and he even hit the ball with the top tier players in the Sunshine West showcase. He fits the bill of a Pro prospect with Major League tools and a very solid 6 foot 2, 187 pound athletic body. He made some outstanding plays in center field and can really swing the bat. His swing is quick and a good medium length that suits him nicely. We saw him hit a sharp single, a double and a triple down the line and each time he used his speed on the bases well. In fact, he made a nice bunt on one play when his team needed it and proved that he is the unselfish player that can do it all. He is a good propsect that we plan to follow and suggest the scouts and College Coaches do also. Excellent student.
