Tyler Leonard is a 2014 C/RHP with a 6-0 203 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Colerain HS. Thick strong build, has present strength. Soft on front foot, good bat speed, strong upper body. Aggressive hitter, makes hard contact, best contact to oppo gap, needs to work on turning on inside pitch, power potential, mechanically sound swing, fluid. Does a little of everything well. Up to 83 on the mound with downhill plane, consistent 81-83 velocity, good spin and downer bite on curveball, throws strikes, flashed good life on changeup. Good lateral agility behind the plate, projectable arm, moves well but mechanics are raw, more talent than skill behind plate at present, tools to develop. Interesting young prospect.
