Ben Hale is a 2007 right handed pitcher/outfielder from South Windsor HS in South Windsor, Connecticut, with a tall, lean 6'1"/145 pound frame. On the mound, Ben pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with solid and consistent mechanics. He has a high leg kick with a balanced delivery and good tempo through his motion. Hale does a nice job of maintaining his 78 mph velocity on his fastball from the stretch. He throws an 11-5 breaking curveball at 64 mph that got better as the game went on. Ben has a good upside as a right handed pitcher. At the plate, he is a right handed hitter that hits from a wide base with a short stride and a line drive swing plane. Ben is solid fundamentally in the outfield with long arm action and accurate throws at 79 mph. Hale is also an excellent student.
