Juan Escarra is a 2013 3B/SS with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Mater Academy. Big strong physical build, mature look. Left handed hitter, long and powerful swing, stays balanced, loose and fluid out front, gets the barrel out into the zone well, big power potential. Sound third base tools, good footwork and light on his feet for his size, has better first step lateral quickness than straight line speed, loose arm with very good arm strength. Also pitched, over the top release, steady upper 80's fastball, mostly straight, did not attempt any off speed pitches. Classic top prospect third base tools.
