We've been following Petrulis for over a year now. We thought he might be a pitching prospect at first as he came to one of our pitcher/catcher camps. After watching him take some swings in the cage we determined that his future is as a player. He runs MLB average, ran a 7 flat (electronic) on a very slow track in Ft Myers. He has a nice arm and good INF actions. Perhaps he plays just a bit too straight up and down, but that can be easily corrected. He looked real good making a couple of outstanding plays at 3B in the games. Back to his bat, he has a chance to be a special hitter. He is going to get stronger and he has a real nice tall lean baseball body. He flashes some serious power potential. Good bat speed out of a simple no nonsense swing. He's going to hit! Petrulis could develop into a nice draft pick over the next year, but he has unbelievable academic records. Look for him to surface at one of the countries leading academic/baseball institutions. His best baseball years are still ahead of him.
