John Dale (JD) Hammer is a 2012 SS with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Fort Collins, CO who attends Fort Collins HS. Lean wiry frame, room to get stronger, young look. Good footwork defensively, solid arm strength with carry, easy athletic actions, long arm action with low release, quick release and DP turn at 2B, versatile middle infield actions. Right handed hitter, spread crouched stance, effort swing to create bat speed but finds the barrel, line drive contact, best pulling the ball, has some hitting tools, will benefit from more physical strength. Good student.
