Doyle is a 5-9 junior middle infielder from the Atlanta area. He has some body life and a bit of strength for his size. Doyle showed us a very quick, short stroke during batting practice and made very consistent middle of the field line drive contact, which is an excellent approach for a player his size. During the games Doyle had a bit of back side collapse and he developed some loft plane in his swing, which isn’t going to do him any favors. He did show a very good batting eye in the games. Defensively, Doyle had very quick and soft hands and his footwork was very advanced for a young high school player. We can’t imagine him as anything but a sure handed and consistent fielder and his defensive skills play well at the college level. Doyle’s arm strength and short release are ideal for second base. He is also a good student.
