Ryan Welsh is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends West Orange HS. Tall slender build, lots of room to get stronger, projects well physically. Full delivery, compact arm action that hides the ball well, tight 3/4's release, tends to drop elbow as arm comes through. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run, primary fastball pitcher who kept the ball low and got inside to hitters. Good change up he could throw more often, gets good sink at the plate. Tends to slow arm on curveball and pitch is impacted by low elbow release. Filled up the strike zone and pitched to contact. Excellent student.
