2013 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Charles Murrah is a 2013 RHP/OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends Maclay HS. Lean athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Slow paced delivery with low effort release, compact high arm action, loose out front, high 3/4's arm slot, good downhill angle to the plate. Consistent low 80's fastball, maintained velocity well, topped out at 83 mph, nice cutting action on FB to glove side at times, sinks ball arm side and pitches side to side with fastball. Slurve type curveball with big 10/4 sweeping break, throws strikes with curveball, rare firm change up. Ground ball pitcher with plus command potential, very effective. Right handed hitter, pre load approach, upper half rotational swing, swings hard and creates some bat speed, flashed power potential, could improve with better swing mechanics. Good student.
