2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Steve Tomsen: Tomsen is a big and strong athlete from California who will need to work hard to keep his body under control after he gets older. He can swing the bat though. Tomsen generates solid bat speed and the ball comes off his bat hard. He’s going to hit some home runs with metal in his hands. Defensively, Tomsen showed average Major League arm strength from the outfield. Tomsen also closed out two games at the showcase, touching 84 mph with raw pitching mechanics. He has the chance to get better as a pitcher and potentially contribute because of his natural arm strength.
