Charles Venable III is a 2014 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Glendale, AZ who attends Mountain Ridge HS. Young slender build, long limbs. Long gliding infield actions, good hands at the ball, short arm action with high quick release, arm strength still developing. Right handed hitter, high hand start, tends to step open in swing, good hand path, smooth swing mechanics, gets loose extension out front, can improve lower 1/2 use in generating bat speed, should continue to improve with more strength. Also pitched, short quick arm circle, 3/4's slot, fastball to 75 mph but touched 82 mph at fall tournaments, curveball showed good depth, nice feel for change up. Might have potential on the mound as well. Projects physically and has some present actions. Good student.
