Nick Fortes is a 2015 C/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Deland, FL who attends Deland HS. Strong well proportioned athletic build. Right handed hitter, high hand load, quick strong hands, good direct path to the ball, upper half strength generated swing, very good raw bat speed, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, gap power with occasional pull side lift, has barrel skills and consistently squares the ball up hard in games. Polished defensive skills, receives the ball firmly and quietly, arm action is a bit long but very consistent footwork and exchange, accurate throws, 1.93 in drills, 2.03 in games, consistent 2.03-2.06 in between innings. Well round skill set with a proven ability to perform and well known leadership skills. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Mississippi. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
