2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Tanner Moore is a 2006 RHP/3B/SS from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Georgia, with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic two-way prospect with a projectable body. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with very good arm speed and solid arm action. Moore has good arm side life on his fastball that topped out at 85 mph. He actually had better velocity out of the stretch because he kept his front shoulder in longer. Moore also mixes in a sharp curveball at 71 mph with an 11 to 5 break. He doesn't consistently throw his curveball for strikes, but he entices hitters to take weak swings at the pitch. He is competitive on the mound and comes after hitters, and show pitchability. At the plate Moore is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance and closes well at contact. He shows solid bat speed, and has a good understanding of the strike zone. Moore is also a good student.
