2014 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Walter Zelaya is a 2014 OF with a 5-8 179 lb. frame from Kitchener, ON who attends St Mary's HS. Short compact build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, rotational upper half swing, starts open with a toe tap trigger and stays on his front side, level long swing, mostly mid field to opposite field contact, needs to get lower half involved and get to his backside at some point. High energy outfield actions, charges the ball aggressively, side arm throwing slot causes throws to arch, big crow hop prior to release. Did not run sixty but has run 7.2-7.3 in the past.
