2005 South Top Prospect Showcase
Brady is a 6-1, 185 lb left handed hitting outfielder from Texas. He was probably the best overall hitting prospect at the showcase and projects as a very good hitter at the highest levels of college or pro baseball. Brady has a calm, balanced load at the plate and very quick hands to the ball. He has a line drive swing plane and showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields. What was really surprising was the power that Brady showed. He doesn't have much loft in his swing right now but the ball carries a long way on a line when he hits it. He'll hit a lot of balls up the alleys and into both corners. Another impressive thing about Brady's hitting was that he seemed to hit better the harder the pitcher he was facing threw. He had very good cuts against the showcase's top pitcher throwing in the low 90's. Brady is a 7.17 runner but showed us the ability to play centerfield at the next level as well. He gets very good jumps on balls and made one diving, over the head catch that Jim Edmonds would have been proud of. There is no reason that Brady shouldn't keep getting stronger and better in the future. This kid is a ball player!
