Tim Stringer: Stringer is a 5-10 senior right handed pitcher from New Jersey who is a quality athlete with a very fast and strong arm. Stringer threw consistently in the 86-89 mph range and threw more 89’s than he did 86’s. He topped out at 90 but lived at 88-89. The ball comes out of his hand very easily. Stringer’s best pitch was a 73-75 mph curveball that had hard, tight biting action to it and is a definite strikeout pitch at the next level. Stringer’s low 80’s change up was also a quality pitch with good tail and nice arm speed. This young man has a MLB fastball, 3 very good pitches and an idea on how to use them. He should be very successful right away at the college level. Stringer also swung the bat pretty well against live pitching and we’d bet he’s a good outfielder when he isn’t on the mound. His mechanics are excellent and he has a lightening quick arm action that is smooth. Some DI college is going to be very happy the day they sign this kid. He has yet to make a decision on who that might be.
